What is power flushing?

Power flushing is a rapid, comprehensive and forcible cleanse of a heating system using high-velocity, low-pressure water. The goal is to flush out magnetite, which is the black sludge held in the water of a heating or hot water system. It is possible that you may have encountered this mixture of dissolved metal in the lower parts of your heating system such as the basement or ground floor.

The process does not damage your heating system. Power flushing equipment connects to your heating system and cleans the radiators, pipes and boiler thoroughly. At the end of the process, after all the sludge has been flushed out, an inhibitor fluid is added to reduce chances of or postpone future contamination.

Following problems with our heating system EVO plumbing and heating were recommended to me by another heating company. Nathan arrived and carried out a full assessment of our heating system, including a water quality test that showed the system required a flush. We now have a system that is brilliant. There are no longer any cold spots throughout the house and because Nathan fitted thermostatic valves we have the flexibility to easily adjust each room's temperature to our requirements. Must say, the service from EVO and Nathan has been excellent.

Cold Water tank was over filling and draining through overflow pipe. Visited at my request same day after 5pm and fixed problem charging exactly as per quotation. On separate visit replaced stopcock as original had seized up. Both times communication was excellent and jobs were carried out professionally and on each occasion house left very tidy with no mess. Have used Evo before and again would have no hesitation in calling them again.

Jordan arrived on time on Monday, 3 Feb and explained the problem. The power flush needed replacement. He immediately Looked on line for a replacement. The earliest available was Wednesday. He arrived a bit late, for which he had warned he had had an emergency, replaced the necessary parts in short order. Courteous, explained everything and did the job with no problems.
